{"id":5273,"date":"2022-12-22T17:14:06","date_gmt":"2022-12-22T15:14:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.expatfeliu.com\/?p=5273"},"modified":"2022-12-22T17:14:06","modified_gmt":"2022-12-22T15:14:06","slug":"student-visa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.expatfeliu.com\/en\/actualidad\/student-visa\/","title":{"rendered":"STUDENT VISA"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>The <strong>student visa<\/strong> is a residence authorization that allows non-EU citizens to stay in Spain while they study in public or private educational centers, carry out research in the country or participate in some type of training.<\/h4>\n<p>It is very important to bear in mind that the student visa <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">is exclusively for citizens from outside the European Union<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The stay for studies is only an authorization to reside in Spain for the duration of the course, it is not a regular residence permit.<\/p>\n<p>However, with the reform of the immigration regulations, it has become a great option for non-EU citizens. <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">It allows you to work, automatically, 30 hours per week<\/span>, and once you complete your studies (no matter how long they last), <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">you will be able to change to a work permit in an easy and comfortable way<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>However, <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">you cannot obtain a student visa if you are from the European Union<\/span>, since it is not required according to article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boe.es\/buscar\/act.php?lang=en&amp;id=BOE-A-2011-7703&amp;tn=1&amp;p=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">44 of the Royal Decree 557\/2011<\/a> which states that all students from the European Union, the European Economic Area or Switzerland can stay in Spain while studying without a visa.
