Applications may be submitted online starting tomorrow, 16 April 2026, and in person by appointment from 20 April. The deadline for submitting applications is 30 June 2026.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"918\" data-end=\"1340\">One of the main requirements is that applicants must have remained in Spain continuously for the five months prior to submitting the application. In addition, they must have been present in Spain before 1 January 2026. This means that only those who meet both time-related requirements will be eligible for regularisation. When submitting the application, applicants must provide documentation proving their stay in Spain.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1342\" data-end=\"1580\">Applicants must also have no criminal record in Spain or in any country where they have resided during the last five years. They must submit a criminal record certificate duly legalised or apostilled, with a sworn translation if required.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"cwbytv\" data-start=\"1582\" data-end=\"1609\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Additional_requirements\"><\/span>Additional requirements<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1611\" data-end=\"1668\">The Royal Decree also establishes other key requirements:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1669\" data-end=\"1907\">\n<li data-section-id=\"15hfvzc\" data-start=\"1669\" data-end=\"1689\">Be of legal age.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"wd48sp\" data-start=\"1690\" data-end=\"1795\">Be in an irregular situation in Spain, meaning not holding any valid stay or residence authorisation.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"eywynh\" data-start=\"1796\" data-end=\"1907\">Not be in the process of applying for an extension, renewal, or modification of a stay or residence permit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1909\" data-end=\"2001\">In addition, regularisation may be requested under one of the following three circumstances:<\/p>\n<ol data-start=\"2002\" data-end=\"2270\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1huvoxu\" data-start=\"2002\" data-end=\"2093\">Having worked in Spain, either as an employee or self-employed, or having a job offer.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"iuy6fo\" data-start=\"2094\" data-end=\"2179\">Having family ties, such as minor or dependent children or dependent ascendants.<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"15tg2mt\" data-start=\"2180\" data-end=\"2270\">Demonstrating a situation of vulnerability that justifies the regularisation request.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"grb272\" data-start=\"2272\" data-end=\"2329\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Additional_benefit_provisional_authorisation_to_work\"><\/span>Additional benefit: provisional authorisation to work<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2331\" data-end=\"2584\">One of the most relevant measures of this regularisation process is that, once the application is submitted, applicants will receive a confirmation of initiation of the procedure, which will include provisional authorisation to reside and work in Spain.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2586\" data-end=\"2802\">If the application is rejected, the provisional work authorisation will be automatically withdrawn. Therefore, it is essential that applicants meet all the established requirements to avoid losing this authorisation.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"dem76r\" data-start=\"2804\" data-end=\"2875\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pending_%E2%80%9Carraigo%E2%80%9D_applications_how_does_this_affect_current_cases\"><\/span>Pending \u201carraigo\u201d applications: how does this affect current cases?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2877\" data-end=\"3241\">An important aspect is that applications for residence authorisation based on \u201carraigo\u201d (social roots) that are already in process will be resolved favourably, provided that the requirements for the extraordinary regularisation are met.
